Bridge Alarm
System Service:
Functional
Testing: The technician will run a full functional test of the system.
This involves checking each alarm stage and ensuring the correct lights and
sounders activate at the specified time intervals. They will also verify that
the system correctly sends signals to remote alarm panels in designated cabins.
Reset
Mechanism Verification: All reset buttons on the bridge and bridge
wings are checked to ensure they cancel the alarms and reset the dormant timer.
Motion sensors, if installed, are also tested for proper functionality.
Power Supply
and Battery Checks: The service includes a check of the main and
emergency power supplies. The technician will verify that the system can switch
to its battery backup in case of a power failure. The condition and health of
the backup battery are also assessed.
Inspection of Components: The technician will physically inspect the control unit, alarm panels, and all associated wiring for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
Documentation and Certification: Upon successful completion of the service, the technician will provide a detailed report and a service certificate. This documentation is crucial for demonstrating compliance with IMO and flag state regulations during surveys and inspections.
